Curious - how do you squish 10 years of your life down into 2 suitcases? Got a real catch-22 situation. I'm only going to be away for about 2 years, so I don't want to get rid of the basic stuff (kitchen things, tv, hi-fi)...but where do I put it all?!

Do I flog it all now and then buy when I return? Not a great idea as all my funds need to be kept locked up for tuition and living expenses! I begrudge that I've got all this stuff together over the years and now I might have to get rid of it. Need to dis-associate myself from the "stuff"!!

I'm currently living in one room and I'm surrounded by bits and bobs. About to start sorting through it all and will be quite mercenary.

The cats have gone to their new home. Quite a thing to go through really...Rupert is doing fine and is a total tart. His new best friend is his new "owner". Shortstop is taking a little longer to get used to things. Quite nervous. Problem is they were both inside for about 3 months prior to going so they got very used to human company, which isn't a great thing for an independent kitty. Fingers crossed they'll both be fine - then they get the trauma of going on a plane with me next September. They're gonna love me for it...!!

I keep having moments of extreme deep thought - wondering what it's going to be like when I go. What I'll miss, how I'll miss it. What will it be like coming back in the summer...won't know until it happens. Looking forward to going, that's 100% for sure.
